Who are my people?
I had the good fortune of finding Allison, my wife of roughly ten years. This stunning woman has made me a stronger, more resilient, kinder and more emotionally intelligent human being. Our son London James is now 4.5, and full of fire, sometimes that fire can be very beautiful/warm and sometimes that fire can be quite a challenge for us parents. And our dear, beautiful, daughter, tiny Kennedy Grace, is the sweetest soul you will find at 15 months; she is coming into her own little personality as of late.
What’s my passion?
Equity, access, and human connection! I am deeply tied to my racialized experience and the privilege that comes with being a white woman. Every human deserves dignity, a roof over their head, and the future prospect of equity, access, and joy. I attempt to do my part to examine my privilege and work with nonprofits that are fighting for gender, ethnic, racial, and religious equity and freedom.
Why real estate?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and it was time for me to try out being my own boss. Allison and I have long dreamed that our last career would be real estate with jointly starting our own firm in our fifties. Well honey, I am getting a head start for us! I have always prioritized a people first mentality with my work and leadership, so why not use that value to get folks into their first home, next home and/or dream home if the time is right. Real estate can be so glorious but can also be quite sad for some – a divorce, a loss, empty nesters, financial binds. I want to bring my full self, warmth, and creative spirit to all of it for the sake of a phenomenal customer experience. And in the next few years, I can find myself on some housing authority boards, trying to make Seattle housing more accessible for all, even better!
My Weekly Focus
Flow: Frequency of interaction with your network! People-time, calls, emails, live chats, and managing my social media outlets.
Grow: Learning the market and industry! Reviewing data and statistics, touring listings, attending and hosting open houses, completing CMA’s, and digging into Real Estate forms and law.
Know: Paying attention! Learning how to provide value to others via real estate or just in life!
What did I do in the past?
I spent fifteen years in the educational and nonprofit leadership world. Started as an Athletic Director and moved my way into being a Dean of Students, Vice Principal, and finally a Principal at the Middle and High School level. I was known for my communication skills, ethics, DEI and cultural competency, strong back, and project-oriented approach. Along with teaching, I have served on numerous nonprofits boards in Seattle and internationally that focus on women, children, and education.
What do I do for fun?
I love cooking, yard work, watching football, hanging with my kiddos, and immersing myself in a good debate. I will talk DEI and racial literacy with you any day of the week. I love serving as an elder of Children & Family Ministries at my church.
